Denby Dale Active Youth Group is an independent local organisation serving the Upper Dearne Valley – Denby Dale, Scissett, Clayton West and the Surrounding villages. ( It incorporates the Upper Dearne Valley Paddlers)
The Group offers to plan a wide range of activities for young people ranging from campfire cooking to climbing and kayaking. Wherever possible we use National Governing Body Qualified Coaches/ Instructors – for example, we have four Level Three Kayak Coaches, an SPA Climber, eight GNAS Archery Instructors and five NSRA Shooting Instructors, plus we have access to several other activity instructors with a wide range of skills.
However, Denby Dale Active Youth is not just about activity, it is also about social gatherings and just having fun with a set of friends who do different things together. Some activities can include going to the cinema, going out for a meal, or just chilling out together.
Whenever we meet there are always at least two adults present. All adult mentors are DBS checked and all must have First Aid and Safeguarding Training.
Youth members are free to join the Group, which has a one off annual membership fee of £40 to cover insurance costs, plus each activity is paid for at the point of use. So, some weeks may be free, but if the Group goes go-karting, then everyone pays the price on the day.
We communicate by e-mail, text and Facebook, so we do need both parent and youth member contact details.
All youth members must join using the official registration form, countersigned by their parents.
